Artist-in-Residence Programme
Nordisk Kunstnarsenter Dalsasen (Nordic Artists’ Centre in Dale), Dale, Norway
During my stay in Dale, Norway as part of an artist-in-residence programme, I displayed in my studio some objects and documentation of my daily life that I had produced there. I transformed my studio into a museum about Dale and presented it to the public.
This ‘Meseum’ was based on my fieldwork research in Dale. Every day I created an object made of things offered by the locals, things collected from the neighbourhood, and products bought at local shops. I presented these objects in the studio. Alongside them I displayed implements present in the studio, including a broom, bucket, and dustpan, with captions in Norwegian and Japanese. This installation thus served as a documentation of my daily life in Dale.
This project gave me an opportunity to seek different ways of expressing and depicting the relationships between a place and its people. I used my studio as a laboratory where I could freely play with the various ideas acquired through fieldwork.

アーティスト・イン・レジデンス・プログラム
ノルウェー、ダーレにおけるレジデンシーの期間中に、私は制作したオブジェクトや日々の記録を自分のスタジオに展示していった。私はそのスタジオをダーレについての博物館として一般に公開した。
この「博物館」は、私のダーレにおけるフィールドワークに基づいている。地域の人々からもらったもの、近所で収集してきたもの、地元のお店で買ったものなどで、オブジェクトを毎日一つずつ制作してスタジオに展示、またほうきやバケツ、ちりとりなど、スタジオの備品にノルウェー語と日本語のキャプションを付けることで、私自身のダーレでの日々の生活の記録が展示された。
このプロジェクトを通じて、場所と人々についての関係について表現し描写する、いろいろな方法を試みた。フィールドワークを通じて得た事柄から様々なアイディアを自由に試してみる、いわば実験室としてスタジオを用いたのである。
