Tatsuo Inagaki was born in Japan. He is a Professor of the Faculty of Intercultural Communication at Hosei University and a Visiting Researcher at the Department of Art Studies College of Arts and Letters University of the Philippines Diliman (2018– 2019). Inagaki was a Guest Research Professor at the School of Art, Central Saint Martins College of Arts & Design, University of the Arts London (2012 – 2013).
Inagaki’s project is collaborative in nature, and each project to date is made in cooperation with the local residents and tailored to the form specific to the region. I started international activities after participating in VIVA EXCON (Philippines) in 1992. He has conducted other projects widely in the world, including France, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Korea, the Philippines, Thailand, Australia as well as Japan.
Inagaki represented the 18th Street Arts Complex in Santa Monica for the LA International Biannual in 2001. He was invited to produce work for the Public Art Project at the International Building, Language Centre of Royal Holloway and Bedford College, the University of London in 2000. Inagaki also conducted an art project in Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale and Suito Osaka 2009 in 2009.
His recent projects include Doi-Saket Project (Chiang Mai, Thailand 2007-2017), Takasato Project(Fukushima,2012-)io è sopra la mia testa.(Chiaromonte, Italy 2017-)Balay Sugilanon(Roxas, Philippines 2018)Ang aking lugar sa Dingalan(Aurora, Philippines 2018)which involve a series of long-term workshops with local children. The artist lives in Chiba and works in Tokyo, Japan.
As a researcher, he is currently researching art communities in Southeast Asia including the Philippines, research on art projects and university education, and development of actual programs.
2001年にはAsian Cultural Councilの助成によりLA インターナショナルビエンナーレのためにサンタモニカ(ロサンゼルス)の18th Street Arts Complexに参加、また2000年にはロンドン大学ロイヤルホロウェイ校ランゲージ・センターのパブリック・アート・プロジェクトのための制作を依頼された。2009年には越後妻有アート・トリエンナーレ、水都大阪2009に参加しプロジェクトを実施。
